Food and your Teeth

There are many foods that can benefit your dental health.  Cheese, milk, plain yogurt, calcium-fortified tofu, leafy greens and almonds are some examples of calcium rich foods. Protein-rich foods like meat, poultry, fish, milk and eggs are good sources of phosphorus.  Both calcium and phosphorus contribute to your good dental health by rebuilding and protecting tooth enamel.

Fruits and vegetables too can aid in your dental health too since many are high in fiber and water and low in sugars. Many contain vitamin A which is also helpful in building tooth enamel and vitamin C which helps for healthy gums and healing.

Drinking plenty of water, especially fluoridated, is one of the best things you can do for your teeth.

If you haven’t yet, call our office today to set up your dental appointment too.
